About Summer Smile Dental
A family dental practice in South Gate, California, founded and led by Dr. Shaila Torbati and Dr. Dona Torbati. We care for children, adults and seniors seven days a week, in English and Spanish.
Our Story
Summer Smile Dental was built on one belief: every patient deserves to feel heard and cared for. Dr. Shaila Torbati and Dr. Dona Torbati founded the practice to build lasting relationships with families in South Gate, not to process appointments.
From your first visit we slow down, listen to your concerns and explain what we find in plain words. We will never rush you toward treatment you do not fully understand. If you have not seen a dentist in years, we start without judgment.
Today we care for patients at two offices: 8116 California Ave in South Gate and 1239 N. Avalon Blvd in Wilmington. Our South Gate office is open seven days a week, so dental care fits around work, school and family.

Dr. Shaila Torbati, DDS
Dr. Shaila Torbati earned her dental degree, with honors, from the University of Southern California. She is known among her patients for listening closely and paying attention to their needs, wants and fears.
She keeps her skills current through seminars and conferences held by the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association, and has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education, including advanced courses in implant placement.
In the office she works with digital X-rays and guided implant placement, and her main interests are cosmetic dentistry, dental implants and gentle care for anxious patients.
Outside the practice, Dr. Torbati visits local schools to teach children about oral hygiene and volunteers with mobile clinics that bring dental care to underserved communities.

Dr. Dona Torbati
Dr. Dona Torbati founded Summer Smile Dental together with Dr. Shaila Torbati and sees patients at the South Gate office. She provides general and cosmetic dentistry for the whole family, from routine checkups and cleanings to crowns and Invisalign.
She is one of the two dentists who see our emergency patients, examining each person, explaining the options in plain words and focusing first on getting them out of pain.
Patients describe the care at our office as gentle and unhurried, and that is the standard Dr. Torbati holds for every visit.
