Your Neighborhood Dental Office on Avalon Blvd

Seeing a dentist should not mean a long drive out of the Harbor area. Summer Smile Dental’s Wilmington office is on N. Avalon Blvd, between Anaheim Street and Pacific Coast Highway, so a checkup fits around school drop-off, a shift at the Port of Los Angeles or a class at Los Angeles Harbor College.

Summer Smile Dental was founded by two dentists who wanted patients to feel heard, not hurried. That idea still guides how our Wilmington office works every day.

We are a general and family dental office. That means one place for your whole household: a first visit for your toddler, braces or Invisalign for your teenager, a filling or crown for you, and dentures or implants for your parents. You do not need to work out which kind of dentist to call. Tell us what is going on and we will take it from there.

Many of our patients come to us nervous, embarrassed about how long it has been, or worried about the bill. All three are normal, and none of them is a reason to keep waiting. We show you what we see, explain it without the dental jargon, and tell you the cost before we begin. You decide what happens next.

What Brings You In Today?

Find the situation that sounds most like yours. Each one is something our Wilmington dentists handle every week.

I have a toothache or a broken tooth

Tooth pain rarely gets better by waiting. Call us and describe what you feel. We will get you in as soon as we can, find the cause and get you comfortable, whether that takes a filling, a root canal or removing the tooth.

I have not seen a dentist in years

No lectures here. We start with an exam, X-rays and a cleaning, then walk you through what needs attention now and what can safely wait. Most people leave relieved it was easier than they expected.

I am missing a tooth

A gap makes chewing harder and lets nearby teeth drift. We lay out implants, bridges and dentures side by side, with the price of each, so you can choose what suits your mouth and your budget.

I want a straighter or whiter smile

Invisalign clear aligners, braces, professional whitening and veneers are all on the table. We show you what each one can realistically do for your teeth before you commit to anything.

My child needs a dentist

We keep first visits short, calm and friendly. Cleanings, sealants and fluoride protect new teeth from cavities, and we show kids and parents how to brush well at home.

I am worried about the cost

We accept Medi-Cal (Denti-Cal), all PPO plans and most HMOs. No insurance? Ask about 0% interest payment plans through CareCredit. Either way, you will know your cost before any work starts.

Insurance and Payment Options in Wilmington

Cost is the most common reason people in Wilmington put off the dentist, and a small problem left alone usually turns into a bigger, more expensive one. We would rather help you find a way to pay for care now than see you later in pain.

Bring your insurance card or Medi-Cal Benefits Identification Card to your first visit. Our front desk will look up what your plan covers and explain it in English or Spanish, so there are no surprises at checkout.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

1. Call or send a request

Tell us what is bothering you and which insurance you have. We find a time that works for you.

2. Exam and X-rays

The dentist checks your teeth and gums and takes X-rays only if they are needed to see what is happening.

3. A clear plan and price

You see what we found, hear your options in plain words and get the cost of each before deciding.

4. Care at your pace

Urgent problems come first. Everything else is scheduled around your time, comfort and budget.
